Another finished project!

This is a picture frame I made for my Hubby for his birthday to put a picture of our daughters in.  It's supposed to say "World's Best Daddy Totally" (the whole family likes to play scrabble together and when he unwrapped the frame  he right away had to add up his score :).  The charms all represent things about him - he works at the airport (plane), he has a tractor repair business (gears), he holds the key to our hearts (key), and he cherishes his girls.
The frame is a $1 frame from Michaels.  It's been painted with acrylic paint, crackle distress paint, and distress inked.  Easy but fun.

I'm back - again!!

I've actually been getting some crafting time in lately and thought I'd try posting some of the things I've created recently.
The first thing I have to post is an album/journal for 2012, titled "My Everyday Life".   I made this from a fabulous kit I purchased from www.scrapkitstudio.com/.  The kits Melinda makes up are packed with all you need for the project except adhesive and scissors.  This particular kit featured Simple Stories Year-O-Graphy and was fun and very easy to put together with the detailed instructions that Melinda provides.  The cover, first page and last page are pretty much put together according to instructions.  The monthly pages I mostly made up on my own.   You can visit Melinda at scrapkit studio and see the complete album put together according to her instructions and also all of the other awesome kits that she has for sale.

I love this album/journal and have been enjoying filling the pages as the months go by.  There are 4 pages to work with each month - two for each month side by side like in the double page pic for Feb. and then the right side page is a file folder and opens so there are two more pages.  If need be, depending on what has been happening during the month, I add pockets, tags and fold outs to expand my space for pics and journaling.
Hopefully I'll be able to add more posts in the next few days and then keep up on a more regular basis - we'll have to see what the days ahead bring.  :)

Thank you for stopping by - God Bless

More Pen Bouquets!

These are a couple of other pen bouquets that I've done for the school office this year.  No thriller but maybe added a little holiday cheer?  :)

A Finished Project!

Each holiday or season I make a new bouquet of pens for the school office where my girls attend.  This is the latest pen bouquet - heading for school on Monday because sadly Spring break will be over.

Spring - Northern Michigan Style!

Up until late last night there was no snow and the girls had been enjoying riding their bikes.  This morning we woke up to lots of the lovely white stuff , about 12" worth, and it's still coming down. The girls are happy to have a snow day (no school) and Ali will probably get the chance to build one last snowman - this one we'll have to accessorize with an Easter bonnet and basket .  LOL

Looking from the front porch toward the driveway - hard to believe it was bare ground yesterday.

I Think I May Be Back! :)

It's been a long time but hopefully I'm back to stay.  I think I've figured out that no matter what's happening around me I need to, if at all possible, make some time to craft.  Crafting is my way of relaxing, unwinding, destressing (is that a word?) and in the end I'm a better person for having crafted.  This weekend I worked on covering composition books for my girls. They are totally different but fit their ages, 8 & 12, and personalities.  Kayla needed hers for school and Ali wanted her, "My Friend Book", just to draw and write in.

Kayla's is covered using DCWV Designer Blue Jeans Stack.  She picked which papers she wanted me to use and was especially pleased with the fact that the pocket on the back is really useable.

Ali's is covered using DCWV Doodlin' Around Stack.  She chose her own title and loves all the sparkle that came on the paper.  Also, all the extra sparkle and bling that we added - after all a girl can never have too much bling.

Finally a card to post!!!!!!!!!!

This first card was inspired by watching a tutorial video over at http://courtbaker.blogspot.com/ .  The blog is "Practicing creativity by Courtney" and Courtney has made a "Petal Flower Tutorial" video that is really great - check it out.

The flower was made per the tutorial and the paper for it was a 6x6 piece I received, along with a bunch of other awsome candy, from Cathy over at http://ellieskeeperscreations.blogspot.com/ . The background paper is from the DCWV glitter Sweet Stack, the sentiment is from a stamp set by Heidi Grace - Wild Daisy Rd. The rest of the things are misc. from my stash.
I guess considering how rusty and out of practice I am on card making, I feel ok with how this turned out - I've definitely made worse. LOL

Blessings & Praises:
We all seem to be over our recent bout with a stomach virus.
I made a card and it was so much fun.

A belated "Whoo-hoo & Thank You"!

Back in December, I was the fortunate winner of the BBTB blog hop candy over at Enfys' blog, "Going Buggy".  I did alot of whoo-hooing and happy dancing and of course contacted Enfys to thank her and let her know my addy.  What I failed to do was let you all know about the awsome goodies.  They included a stack of color box chalk inks in blue tones, a set of rub on alphas, a pack of rain dots and some making memories metal frames - all yummy.  My absolute favorite though was the old fashioned phone card she made for the blog hop and then sent on to me.

I know you can't help but agree - it's just so cute!!!!!!     Thanks again Enfys.
If you all don't already know Enfys, stop by her blog and say "hi" - you won't be disappointed.  http://going-buggy.blogspot.com/

I'm Back!

It's been a long time - life has been kind of wild and crazy, actually still is, but decided to give this another try regardless.  My girls are doing a better job of getting some crafting time in than I am.  My oldest, soon to be 11, now has her own blog.  We had lots of fun setting it up together during Christmas break.  If you get a chance, she'd love for you to stop by and say "hi".  http://kaylaskrazykrafts.blogspot.com/
My youngest, now 7 (my baby is growing up fast), has made a crafty poster that I told her I would post on my blog. She told me what she wanted it to say and I wrote it for her.  She would be thrilled if anyone has a chance to comment.
I've not been able to complete anything to post myself but I havn't given up hope. :)

Yahoo & Thank You Cathy!!!!

I've been yahooing, yelling and dancing around here so much my family's sure I'm 100% nuts!  (They've been questioning it for some time now but after tonight there's no doubt. LOL)  What's caused all of my excitement is that I've been blessed to be picked as the winner for Cathy's awsome blog candy, over at her lovely blog, http://ellieskeeperscreations.blogspot.com/.  THANK YOU SO MUCH, CATHY, and everyone be sure and go check out her blog with all of it's wonderful creations.  I'm definitely not computer savvy but I'm going to attempt to add a pic of all of the fantastic candy Cathy's been so generous to give, here's hoping I can make it work.

Blessings & Praises:
Winning Cathy's Awsome candy.

Craft time?

Our area has been hard hit by the flu - they just announced that all of the public schools will be closed until next Monday. My girls attend a private Christian school and so far it's closed through tomorrow. The girls are feeling some better today. I'm hoping, after Daddy gets home this evening, to get a chance to slip downstairs and create a card. :)

Blessings & Praises:
My girls are feeling better.
Daddy is renting a video to help with the cabin fever.

My first attempt at posting!

Unfortunately I have no cards or projects to post. My daughters came down with H1N1 Flu on Wednesday and are still running a temp. I started running a temp. today and feeling achy all over, so it will probably be a while yet before I get a chance to craft.

Blessings & Praises:
I was able to mostly figure out how to get my blog set up.
The H1N1 Flu hasn't been life threatening for us.
Even though my bloodwork is still positive for cancer my body scan came back negative. PTL
I've had some good phone time with my sister in FL.
